HeBrews Moment

I am not sure how many of you are doing "How to study your Bible", but I had a great time studying this morning. Chris set up a desk for me in the spare room and I went in and for 1 and a half hours I studied (1) scripture. It was amazing! Now will I get the opportunity to do that every morning, well I would love to say yes, but will take whatever time the LORD allows. I just know that this year I am making this a discipline in my life, the desire has been there, now I get to apply it. For those of you who are not able to take the classes yet, I encourage you to at least try to ask a couple of questions when you are reading your scriptures. What is the most important term and/or concept of the passage? And in what ways does the passage apply to my own personal life?
The scriptures I gave Saturday morning in Matthew 13:1-23, mainly 19-23, please do not let these overwhelm you. Just look at the 4 types of soil and right down the differences between them. That will be enough and if that is still too much at least just read through it once or twice, that will be a start.
My prayer is that we all wake up every morning with a hunger for God's Word and apply it to our lives. I would love for you to share on here any exciting things God shows you this week. Let us build each other up and speak life!

  1. Wanted to share what God showed me while studying Matthew 13. I took some time and wrote out where the seed had fallen and then went over to what Jesus said about that type. It really made sense me to doing it that way and God began to show me the stages of my life according to the type of soil. Being transparent here: The first type of seed~fell by the road and was eaten by the birds~ This was my walk with God from the time I was saved at 8yrs. old until I was 24yrs. old. I went to church but really didnt understand the Bible or how I was suppose to live.
The next type of seed fell on rocky ground~ this was my walk from 24yrs old until I was 27yrs. old. I was really trying to live for God but I didnt allow the teachings to really take root and didnt spend the time I should have digging deeper.
The next type fell among the thorny weeds~ This is my areas of disobediance. I wish I could tell you that like some of the other seeds I had learned from and grown deeper, but unfortuantely I still have some that have fallen among the weeds. We like to call these areas(like Susan said the other day" the areas I "struggle" with...aka SIN
The seed that fell on good soil that is me when I am rocking and rolling with God, when I am on fire, and walking in obediance! So when I walk in obediance what is produced at that time not only lasts but is 100 times, 60 times, or 30 times more! Dont know where this falls on you, but this is what God showed me and I thought it was very practical and wanted to share.

  2. Good stuff and thanks for the teaching and the transparency. I worked on this last night and I was able to see a literal translation and then a life application which is what you have done here, and that is what I am looking for. Thanks again, Keep it up
