He-Brews Moment

Good morning everyone, hope you rested last night. Talked to Chris last night and all is going well in Mexico on the mission trip. They will be back Thursday so please pray for a safe return.
Well last night I was reading and remembered Tiffany had mentioned Romans 7:19-24 and I know the verses, but have not really studied them. So I happened to be reading in another book and it had those passages from The Message and it reads like this: I decide to do good, but I don't really do it; I decide not to do bad, but then I do it anyway. My decisions, such as they are, don't result in actions. Something has gone wrong deep within me and gets the better of me everytime. It happens so regularly that is's predictable. The moment I decide to do good, sin is there to trip me up. I truly delight in God's commands, but it's pretty obvious that not all of me joins in that delight. Parts of me covertly rebel, and just when I least expect it, they take charge. I've tried everything and nothing helps. I'm at the end of my rope. Is there no one who can do anything for me? Isn't that the real question?
Yes there is someone who can help. It goes on to say that God has given us power through the Holy Spirit to combat every sin that will cross our path. It is up to us to utilize that power. We run this race for God and when we forget that, sin is not far from us. So today as you are out in the race remember it is not about you or me, but about our Creator and the One who loves us so much. Walk in that love today and let that love pour onto others.

He-Brews Moment

Good Morning. Just wanted to post something before I left for work. We are going to be discussing the Virtuous Woman starting on 2nd and 4th Saturdays after we clean the church. And so as I was reading through the material I was asking God where to start. He showed me two ideas and one was to ask some of the men in our church what is their "ideal woman" no names were put on the card and I have no idea who wrote what, but the great thing about it was pretty much their ideas were alike, which is neat to me because we are to be one mind in Christ and it seems our men are heading in the right direction. Tell a man in your life today how much you appreciate all they do for you and thank God for putting them in your life. I praise God for my husband and boys who are in Mexico right now doing the Lord's work. Protect them and bring them home safely in Jesus name.

On Saturday Dec. 26th, Tiffany gave a devotion on Phillipians 2:1-8, mainly focusing on verses 5 and 6. So if at any time during the next 2 weeks you apply this to your life, examples: such as being of one accord, esteeming others above yourself, looking for the interests of others, and to be like Christ who saw Himself as a bondservant.... or if God shows you something through these scriptures, please comment and share so we can praise God with you. He-Brews Ministry Moment

Well I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas, and heading towards a wonderful new year. I have been reflecting of things from this passed year 2009 and remembered the other evening as we were receiving the Lord's supper and I was just boohoo-ing, but it was tears of joy, because as my church family came forward one family at a time I was thinking how God had touched each and everyone of them this year. Some He drew closer to Him by trials in their lives that all they could do was cry out to their "Papa God", some He was their Husband, some He brought Godly husbands, others He helped through strongholds in their lives and they have found a new freedom in Christ, some have started new ministries, and others of us will be starting to learn how to be mothers and grandmothers for the first time "yeah"! I know this year God has had me learning the discipline of prayer more in my life, especially at one point for my beautiful younger sister, who by the grace of God is going to do better physically this new year. I hope that I will never take for granted the privilege it is to come before a holy God to pray. May God strengthen us in this area and continue to pour blessings on us for the year 2010. Praise God and praise God again!!! In the grind for His glory, amen.

He-Brews Moment

I have had a great day and cannot wait to see what tomorrow brings. I was just reading something a little while ago and it has had me thinking. It was discussing people who do not want to surrender "all" to God, they tend to want to keep that little sin in their life. Do we think that "it " can fulfill us more than Jesus Christ. Anyway the scripture they were referring to is Romans 6:11 In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. You can try to play dead " to your sin that is", but sooner or later it catches up to you. These "almost dead" Christians stay in a constant battle and are probably miserable, they cannot know the abundant life of Christ because of their stubbornness to give up their worldly pleasure. So my question is do we truly die to that sin, lay it down and give it to God or do we continue "faking death" and stay miserable. I personally have just walked through this with a sin in my life that I did not realize that I was still bound too. When God revealed the "fakeness" of it all I could not believe I had given into it. This last 2 weeks have given me a hunger for God that I have been missing for awhile. I praise God and give Him the glory for His revelations and convictions, but most of all His love.

HeBrews Moment

Good morning everyone. Alot quieter morning, everyone is still asleep, except Chris who is at the men's breakfast. Just had my first cup of coffee and was enjoying reading everyone's posts from yesterday. It sounds like a great day for most! Enjoyed visiting last night with my daughter, son-in law and Amber, they bless my heart. Never a dull moment around them. Here are two scriptures to meditate on and apply, Romans 15:5-6 Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you LORD that we are all one in salvation; different talents, giftings and ministries, but ONE that praises and gives glory to the true GOD.
